Early voting ends November 4th and Prop 206 is something for students to think about. Proposition 206 is paid time off and an increase in minimum wage from $8.05 to $10 by next year and $12 by the year 2020.

In  the state of Washington, however, the minimum wage would be raised to $13.50.

Why Prop 206? It helps lower class families buy what they need and help businesses. The last day to vote is November 8th, the same day as the election.

Although the voting age is 18, here some opinions from the students of our school about Proposition 206.

What do you think about Proposition 206?

“I think people would get too comfortable with having a crappy job. They’d never have any motive to get something better in life.”

“I would say yes but men make a different amount than women do. If we were to push towards that, men would still be making more and it wouldn’t be equal and people would never want to push themselves to do better.”

“I don’t necessarily agree with the raise of minimum wage because it shows people it’s okay to have a low job and promotes laziness. However, there are people who need a starter job and a quicker way to help their families.”
