On February 10th, 2017 Sierra Linda’s Concert Choir arrived at Flagstaff, ready to perform at the NAU Jazz Madrigal Festival. Their day began with their great performance at the Flagstaff Community Federated Church. With the Concert Choir’s best effort they were given an excellent rating. Below is the concert choir’s mid-performance.

To celebrate, the rest of the day consisted of fun activities around the area. After they ate lunch they watched NAU Vocal Jazz groups performances in the NAU auditorium. Here is a picture of the excited group in front of the auditorium.

Next they arrived at their beautiful hotel where students in choir were given the opportunity to experience outrageous enjoyment. They went swimming in the indoor pool or simply just hung out. Different people grew closer during this time. Here is just one of the groups of roommates in one room sitting outdoors by the hotel: (left to right) Shae Adams, Emily Acosta, Jessica Contreras , Natalia Vazquez, and Hannah Perez (missing in photo)

By the evening the entire choir group went together to eat at Taverna Grill and afterwards they had the rest of the evening to themselves at the hotel. The next morning the choir got ready to leave the hotel and watch their fellow choir members in the Vocal Jazz Choir perform. They gave a wonderful performance and received an excellent rating. These are the selected students in Sierra Linda’s Vocal Jazz group: (left to right) Shae Adams, Crystal De La Rosa, Serena Mendoza, Hannah Perez, Patrick West, Victor Robledo , Gabriel Flores, and Roy Bayless

The soprano section leader Shae Adams says, “It was definitely a bonding experience and I feel like I grew alot closer to everyone ” Overall this year’s NAU choir trip was said to have been very memorable and simply just all around fun.
