August 17, 2018, a few hours before our first game of the season, the hallways were filled with excitement while the marching band, cheerleaders, and football players walked the hallways hyping up the school, chanting our fight song.

Around 6:30 that afternoon, many were lined up patiently waiting in front of the box office to buy a ticket for the great match that was waited ahead. This was an intense night for the Sierra Linda football team, the bleachers filled up with support from students, parents, and school faculty. Seats were packed, barely any seats left for others, some had to watch the game standing up the whole time, now that is dedication. The boys were up and down the field doing their best. But eventually, all of the hard work they put in came out to be pretty good. Sierra Linda WON the first game of football season, and our school couldn’t be any prouder.

I take my hat off to the new coaches this year for all their effort and time they put in with football team, because they did great to start off the season. Including our first victory. To our football players Christian Nunez (2), Jesus Montes (11), Kevin Quijada (9), Arkell Wilson (6), and Michael Garcia (5), you guys did amazing for making those touchdowns that put us in the lead.

The rest of the incredible team aren’t forgotten, they did just as phenomenal on the field. What’s a better way to start off the season than a victory kickoff?
