Freshmen football team loses to Moon valley

On September 10th the freshmen football team competed against Moon Valley on Sierra Linda’s home turf.

Moon Valley began the scoring with a touchdown and a two point conversion.  The Bulldogs replied with a touchdown of their own bringing the score to 8-6 bulldogs trailing not too far behind. Moon Vballey scored once more before the quarter ended tallying up the score to 14-8 at the end first quarter.

Bulldogs scored a touchdown with 4:11 left on the clock. Moon Valley returned Sierra Linda’s kick off for a 65 yard touchdown. The freshmen scored their own kickoff return with 3:35 left. At the end of the second quarter the score was tied 22-22

The third quarter was a triumph for the Bulldogs defense stopping six consecutive Moon Valley drives. Causing turn overs and loss of Downs left and right. At the end of the third quarter the game was still tied up 22-22

The fourth quarter of the game was a nerve racking battle for the win. Moon Valley scored with 5:17 left on the clock bringing the score to 28-22 Bulldogs down by six points. Bulldogs had an unsuccessful drive dropping two passes, costing the game.

“We did a lot better than we did last week” said Coach Chris Chinchilla in a post-game interview he went on to say “we can win”

The team’s next game is set for Wednesday September 17th away at Agua Fria High school.
