The SLHS varsity Girls Golf team has hit the links with a solid group of novice players and a patient and fun coach Mrs.Sanders.

Returning junior Melina Tacheenie enthusiastically said, “There are more girls this year” when asked about the differences from last year, and added “I could tell this year would be fun

“I never thought golf would be my ‘thing,’ but it’s actually really easy. My coach and team are amazing” stated first time golfer, and junior Kaitlyn McFarland.

The girls are currently 1-3, winning their first win Monday, September 22nd. So far they played against Tolleson, Buckeye, Desert Edge, Dysart, Youngker, Agua Fria, Shadow Ridge and LaJoya, they still have 4 more matches to compete in this season. Their next match will be against October 11th against Buckeye, and Shadow Ridge.
