Many people have seen bullying, but never really understand how serious it can be and how it could affect kids.

Did you know bullying is one of the biggest problems in the U.S.? According to CDC 90% of grades 4-8 in the past few years have got bullied. 28% grades 6-12 experience some form of bullying. In 2007-2001 a school in Virginia had a high rate of bullying the cause of that had 29% of students dropped out. 1 in 10 students drop out or change schools due to bullying.

The biggest targets to bullying is lesbians, gays, bi’s, transgender, and overweight kids. Being bullied can lead to low self-esteem, anger, frustration, and suicidal thoughts. According to CDC (centers of Disease control) there are 4,400 deaths per year. Due to bullying, there are also 100 suicide attempts. 14% of high school students have considered suicide and 7% have attempted it. The average bullying episode lasts only 37 seconds.

Teachers notice or intervene in only one in 25 incidents, since teacher don’t see what is going on with their students, they are more likely to get bullied every day. Bullying can occur anywhere at any time.
