Just because you have money

Celebrities get away with more crimes than regular people

Just because you have money

Besides the money there is a difference on how the celebrities and ordinary people get treated when it comes to law.

Have you ever noticed that celebrities seem to pay money when they get in a bad situation? For many it has been proven that celebrities are get away with more crimes then any common person who isn’t known or applauded by society.

For example when the boxer Mike Tyson was arrested for raping an 18 year old girl. The trial only lasted a year, he did get in trouble and did go to jail but only 6 years was served on prison while 4 years he was on probation. Any other person who would have done this would have been in a worse situation than what he was.

The prime reason behind this is the fact that celebrities has no lack of money and connections in higher rank of society. With these two tools in their hands they break the law and think it’s alright.

Another instance, when actress Lindsay Lohan stole a $2,500 necklace after she continued to break probation she was under house arrest for only two weeks. If any person that wasn’t famous committed this crime they would have gone to jail. In my opinion I think she knew she could get away with what she did because she has the money to get out of that situation,

Lastly when Don King a famous boxing promoter got in trouble while running an illegal bookmarking operation when he shot and killed a man named Hilary Brown after he tried robbing on of the kings gambling houses.  King didn’t do any time for this crime because they claimed it was a homicide.

According to one site called Debate.org 90% of people say yes they think celebrities do and 10% of people say they don’t. A lot of people have different opinions. One person on debate.com that doesn’t think they do said “They are watched more. Celebrities are watched more and don’t get away with more crime. They may not have to pay as much or get punished but they don’t get away with it, the press will always will.”
