Students get rewarded for their academic excellence

On October 22nd 2014, the annual Academic Awards Night was held in the cafeteria for the achieving student second semester, last year.

To start out the night Mr. Madrid presented and heart felt speech, about the accomplishments, and achievements the student body has received, followed by, alumni Samuel Perez, class of 2014, who spoke out about college life and the reality of it. Shortly after Mr. Madrid came up again and presented the awards for bronze, silver, and Gold to the achieving scholars.

In order to receive a bronze medal you need a 2.5-2.99 to receive a Bronze, 3.00-3.49 for a silver and a 3.5-4.0 for a Gold. That night there was a total of 211 bronze, 198 silver, and 244 Gold medals presented.

Not only were medals presented, however certificate awards for the student who received straight A’s all through second semester last year.
