Battlefield Hardline is Viceral’s (creator of the game) take on a Battlefield game. It is a whole new approach to the Battlefield series. This title is based off of a cops and robbers theme, both the singleplayer and the multiplayer are based on the cops and robbers theme. It was released on March 17, 2015 and is currently $60 for all consoles and pc at GameStop and other stores.

The sinlgeplayer (story mode) takes place in many places one of them being in Los Angles California, and Florida. The story, based off of a stereotypical cop story including corrupt chiefs and crooked cops. You are playing as a detective named Nick Mendoza you are introduced to the game by going on a drug bust and then transitions into a high speed chase through the slums of Miami. That is just the first mission of the game and there is still more craziness to come.

The multiplayer is the biggest part of the every Battlefield game for mostly everyone who buys it. And the game’s multiplayer is decent for the game but not everyone was too happy about it when it came out. An example of this hate would be the new “Syndicate Assignments” for every class. This new assignment is currently the reason why most of the serious players don’t really like the multiplayer. To unlock this assignment for one class you need to finish the 1st and 2nd assignments for that specific class then it requires that you get a 1 “Gold Star”. Then you are able to work on this assignment, the assignment for the “Operator” class is:

  • 200 Assault Rifle kills
  • Unlock the Operator’s tier 4 Reputation track in 10 different matches
  • 15 First Aid Pack Coins
  • 15 Revive Coins

And the second point frustrates players, the second point is one of the hardest things to do in multiplayer so you can imagine the frustration.

In this Battlefield they fixed the driving mechanics so that the cars are easier to drive and control. They took this concept and made a game mode about it called “Hotwire”. In Hotwire there are 5 special cars that your team needs to drive around the map to receive points to win the game. With the new car mechanics they also added new customization items to the cars including improved armor, trunk rocket launchers, and trunk LMGs.

I played the Xbox One version of this game and I have to say that it looked amazing. The game also has a 60 fps rate which looked phenomenal plus the 720p resolution. All in all I would give this game a 9/10.
