New school year with new teachers, students, and the announcement of our new assistant principal, Ms. Lorin Sempkowski. A past administrator who left to the district office to the lead the literacy department has returned to the campus.

 

She is excited to be back on the Sierra Linda High School campus. She will be in charge of Curriculum and Instruction.

 

We had an opportunity to catch up with her during her busy schedule.

 

Q: How many years have you spent educating?

 

A: “This my 25 year in education.”

 

Q: Did you play or participate in any sports in high school?

 

A:’’Yes, I did. I was a swimmer in high school and also taught swimming.”

 

Q: Do you enjoy your job and why?

 

A: “I do enjoy my job, and I knew ever since I was a sophomore in high school that I wanted to be a teacher and I loved teaching for the 15 years I taught and I’m excited to be back on a campus.”

 

Q: What was your position prior to coming to SLHS?

 

A: “I was the Instructional Leadership coordinator for reading.”

 

Q: What are some challenges of your job so far?

 

A: “In this job the biggest challenge is that there are so many people who want to meet especially after and before school.”

 

Q: What is something you want people to know?

 

A: “Something I want people to know is that I really respect all people and learn from all people, even as an assistant principal I’m also a learner myself.”
