On Friday September 4 the varsity football team played Barry Goldwater, who is also the Bulldogs, and destroyed them 63-34 in a great game played well on both sides of the ball.

The offensive line did a great job making holes and protecting quarterback Dominic Ruelas giving him a chance to move the ball down the felid. In the first half the score was 42-19

‘’Offense moved the ball well. Props to the o line”, said Ruelas.

Starting wide receiver Toshaun Thomas had a great first half. It was highlighted with a 90 yard touchdown pass from Ruelas.

About his first half   Toshaun Thomas said, ‘’I feel pretty good about them but at same time it’s not over yet and I hope to score more and I hope my teammates get some action to.’’

The Bulldogs came out of half time strong with a pick 6 (interception for a touchdown) from two way starting free safety Dominic Ruelas. He finished the night with a total of three interceptions.

Thomas did not slow down in the second half ending the game with 3 receiving touchdowns for 167 yards and 2 Rushing touchdowns for 166 yards.

His performance earned him the Scout.com running back of the week honors. Click link to read more:http://www.scout.com/high-school/arizona/story/1584023-friday-night-phenoms-week-2.

‘’It feels good right now but we still got 7 games left.’’ Said head coach Ross Crow about having the first winning record of school history after three games.

The other offensive big gun was senior starting running back Adam Gutierrez who continued to dominate. He contributed 129 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Bulldogs broke records this week by being the first varsity football team to have a winning record after three games and by being the first team to score 60 points or more in a game.
