Running Bulldogs off to great start

Varsity boys hoops burning up the nets

The varsity boys basketball team is off to a blazing 8-4 start. The Bulldogs  are averaging  a blistering 68 points per game.  In 2015 preseason tournaments at Central high school and in Tucson, the team recorded wins against  Marcos De Niza, Millennium, and Tucson’s Cienega.  On December 3rd the team  started the holiday month off with a big win against Section V Division II foe Desert Edge 81-69.

On December 17 the Bulldogs ran the Wildcats from Willow Canyon high school out of the gym by dominating them 60-49 in front of the SLHS home crowd. Guard and preseason sensation Ahmire Gaines led the team in scoring with 28 points.

The team’s next game is Tuesday, January 5th in a Section V Division II contest at Tolleson (1-4). Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
