Is someone watching you?

Back in 2012, Edward Snowden, a former NSA(National Security Agency)  employee, revealed shocking information about the government. Their intrusive eyes see everything we do; watching and listening in to every conversation we have. The people we trust don’t trust us and have a constant guard over our shoulders. Our lives are being stalked and  surveyed on personal, private matters like what goes on through your phone and on your computer. Even the TV’s we have is being monitored. Have you ever noticed the cameras on all of these things?

The cameras on our cell phones, TV’s, and computer’s have been lying to us. You might not see that the cameras are on but they never actually turn off; you always have full access to it. However, if we have full access, then so does the company who made it, as well as the authorities. They can look in and see what we are doing at any time of the day. The new TV’s have a technology that allows us to Facetime and Skype from your couch. In that case, it allows the authorities to see into our daily lives; how we spend our alone time when we think we are by ourselves.

The government gave the people the right to have privacy for certain things. I think that people should have the privacy they need for things that don’t concern the authorities. If its not what they need to use for their investigation, then they don’t need to go through our personal lives.

What goes through your mind when you think about the fact that the government is constantly watching everything you do?

First of all, I worry not because I do not want them watching me, but I worry whether or not the information the government is getting is really helpful; does it actually help fight terrorism or is it used for some other reason.  I also worry because so many teenagers are allowing themselves to be “watched” and not thinking twice by posting things on social media.”
