Beating Their Toughest Opponent This Year

On December 13th the varsity girls basketball team took on the Valley Vista High Monsoons in a dog fight game winning 39-36.

“I think they did a great job. They played with a lot of heart and they just got after it tonight” said head coach Desirae Carranza.  She added, “They get better every game, Every game they learn something new and we learn from it and we just gonna keep learning.”

The first half was one to remember for the Lady Bulldogs due to the fact it was their fist time being down at half time 25-24. Both teams played outstanding defense keeping it a low scoring game.

“The game last night really opened our eye to see what we are capable of and what we can do has a team.” said point guard Janae Gonzales, who finished with 16 points.

The Lady Bulldogs come out of half time ready to play by taking the lead back and keeping it. The last 2 minutes of the game were intense. The score went back and forth with each team making their way to the free throw line. There was  31 fouls combined from both teams.

“We played great defense and I’m so proud of how we played and it just shows us we can take it all the way and this is our year we have one more shot at it.” said Janae Gonzales

The teams overall record is 5-0. They have out scored their opponents  308 — 150.
