On Friday night December 16 the Lady Bulldogs played the Westview Knights winning 61-37 in their second away game.

“We’re playing good s0 far on the away games. We always got to be extra careful and work harder on the road.” said head coach Desirae Carranza.  She added “We got to be ready we are coming off a back to back road games, We had a tough game Tuesday night against Valley Vista. It took us a while to find our legs tonight.”

The Lady Bulldogs are coming off back to back road game wins. The team came out to a slow start only scoring 10 points in the first quarter. Half of those points coming from the free throw line.  The Bulldogs stepped it up in the second quarter by scoring 16 unanswered points in row. They went into half time lading 32-16

” It doesn’t feel like anything, Coach just tells me to go out there and work hard. It pays off, honesty looking forward to state this year.” said returning senior starter Cheyenne Lee.

The team come out of half time staying at a steady pace on the offensive side of the ball by being able to score 14 points in the 3rd quarter. They however, allowed the Knights to score 17.  That was the biggest quarter for the Knights in the game.

In the 4th quarter the Bulldogs defense stepped up and stopped the Knights offensive run, by only allowed them to score 4 points in the 4th quarter.

Previously in the week, the team continued to stay hot on Thursday, December 15 by beating the Willow Canyon Wildcats 76-19. Cheyenne Lee lead all scores with 20 points. The team out score their opponents in the last 2 games 138-56.

The Lady Bulldogs will get some rest and enjoy a quick break before the travel to the East Valley to play in the Red Mountain Holiday Hoops Classic.  Their first game is on December 27th  against Mesa Desert Ridge (6-7) , then December 28th  powerhouse Loyola Academy from the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois who finished ranked 21 in the state with a 20-7 record. They round our pool play and Chandler High (4-2) on December 30th.
