This week an album just got certified as GOLD by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), the album is “There’s Really A Wolf” from an American hip-hop artist known as Russ. For this album he had no features, no other producers writers mixing/mastering/recording engineers; also from this album two songs hit platinum, those songs are “What They Want” and “Losin’ Control”. From the past decade he is a self-described “10-year, 11-album, 87 song overnight success.” Russ started off by dropping 11 self produced, engineered and wrote albums he then went over to soundcloud and would put a song out every week until one finally took off, (in total he gave out 87 songs) “What They Want” was apart of those 87 songs and was the first to take off as far as it did. Throughout this ten year process Russ never had a doubt because he was so in love with music and in love with the process.
