Light of Mine

Light+of+Mine

Aumonique Jaramillo, Digital Journalists

Kyle is a joyous Rapper that comes off as happy. In this album, light of mine, he is here to say that he does have bad days sometimes because he is only human. He explains how he doesn’t just wake to a great day every day but how he wakes up to fight to have a good day. He is not the Super-duper Kyle, the superhero alias of kyle, off the bat. He fights to stay happy everyday and he explains that the listener could do the same thing too.

The intro, Up & Downs, sets up the track for the rest of the album. It’s a track that sets the aesthetic of a retro 80’s soundtrack. In this song, he explains how no matter what you do in life, there are guaranteed to be ups and downs in your life. At the end of the track, Lil boat is featured into the album playing as Kyle’s conscience, guiding him of what to do in terms of happiness. The tone and aesthetic it also transferred into the second track, Coming, Going?

Zoom, the third song, switches up production wise. In this song, Kyle expresses how controls his problems. He doesn’t stress on problems as much as possible. He just wants to have fun. Ikuyo has the same production style but brings back the joyous vibe the beginning of the album that also features 2 chainz and Sophia Black.

Games, the fifth track, is a fun and aggressive song. He compares his life as a game, as well as, his motives. This is a song that get the listener moving. He makes references to game genres as well as game components.

These five tracks, are basically the same tones that Kyle uses in the rest of the album. For a person that hasn’t listen to the album, I advise you to listen to those tracks to get an idea if you would like the album. Obviously all the songs are not going to be identically the same but all the them have potential to be its own type of song. Kyle does go out of his way to try to make every song unique.
