JV football show promise in home opener

The JV football team had their first home game on August 28 against Poston Butte losing by a score of 24-58.
After the tough lost Coach Jacob Ciesielczyk said, ‘’we have a lot to work on ‘’.
Running back Chicago Thomas had a great game running for 2 touchdowns. Thomas had a big scoring run in the opening drive and two point conversion that helped the team take an early 2 point lead.
Thomas said,’’ It felt great like no one can stop me’’ about his two touchdowns.
In the third quarter Thomas had a kickoff return for over 50 yards for another TD. Quarterback Cesar Delgado had a great fourth quarter with some great passes and two big runs one for a touchdown.
Delgado said, ‘’It felt great to score a touchdown. There will be more in the season’’
The defense did well with two fumbles and one interception. The Bulldog’s special teams did very well. There were some great hits and on the kickoff return team there were some great blocks. The team also had one blocked kick.
At time of press release of this story the JV team’s second game against Kellis high school was cancelled due to lightening. The next games is at Moon Valley September 11 at 6:00 p.m.
