From the marching band in the morning, to the pep rally in the afternoon, the Bulldog Nation was heated to see the first home football game of the season. Sierra Linda was the place to be on September 5th, Friday night as the Bulldogs took on Raymond S. Kellis high school, and getting their first win of the season with the final score of 43-36.
The game started off with an incredible touchdown in the first quarter made by junior, wide receiver Toshaun Thomas . “After breaking my hand last year that touchdown felt like revenge, and it was amazing considering that we scored in the first 30 seconds of the game” said Thomas.
Senior Running back Michael Laurean, made the second touchdown of the game along with Junior Quarterback Dominic Ruelas who also ran for two touchdowns. Tensions were in the air after Kellis made a comeback, and the score got rocky throughout the game. “The boys have a big heart, this game is going to be a great boost of confidence for them!” said Principal Mr. Madrid
The crowd got wild, and pumped up and when the team took the lead with the final touchdown by Junior Running back Adam Gutierrez.
When interviewed after the big win, Head Coach Ross Crow said “The boys have been working hard for this win, were going to celebrate this one and I’m very happy about it!”
