Cross country at Sierra Linda requires extreme dedication and will power to run miles. Not many are prepared for the dedication cross country comes with, but many are prepared for what cross country throws at them.  This season the team ran their hearts out all the way to
Sectionals.

“My mentality has improved and as a person I’ve grown. Cross country is a team sport not an independent sport”, said Xavier Chaidez ‘16

“I manage school and cross country with the same technique I use with cross country perseverance and determination”

One of the obstacles I came across this season was my drive to keep going and finishing a race even if I’m in pain,” said Zyanne Baxter 16

“As a team we are close we all need to push each other and motivate each other to get through a race”

Behind the scenes to inspire and motivate the team this year was 1st year coach and math teacher Meg Zmolek

“This year we didn’t come across many obstacles. However, a few kids were ineligible but we resolved those issues,” Zomlek said

When asked about the future of the program she added, “We do need to recruit more for next season so if you love running come our way”
