The varsity football team is ready to start the new 2015 season this Friday as they get ready for battle against Tucson’s Desert View High School. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. at Bulldog stadium.

Last year under the direction of new head Coach Ross Crow the Sierra Linda Varsity Football team improved from the previous year with a 3-7 record. The team fought hard all year long.

Over the past summer the team worked harder putting in the work and conditioning. Not only will they be sporting new uniforms, but also a new attitude and approach to building a winning tradition.

Senior standout and 3 year Varsity starting quarterback Dominic Ruelas said, “Our keys to success this year Is all about staying together as a team all as one it’s not about one person this it’s not about one person that. We’re all one big team and we’re all in this together.”

To increase the team’s chances for a successful season they participated in passing leagues and big man challenges. The highlight of the off season was the team traveling to NAU in Flagstaff for a Football Camp.

“The key to having a successful year is everybody on the team being all in. That’s our new motto of the year all in. If everybody is all in we’ll win. Period. “, said returning First Team All Section Wide Receiver Toshaun Thomas.

The visiting Jaguars are coming off a 0-10 season and only have 7 seniors on the roster and should have their hands full against the Bulldogs and their 21 seniors.
