Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month 2015

Hispanic Heritage Month is a national celebration in the United States in which people recognize the contributions and efforts made by Hispanic/Latino Americans and also a time to celebrate the diverse heritages and culture. It runs annually until October 15th.

 

The Hispanic culture has influenced many aspects of the United States today. They influence through their strong commitment, hard work, and strong faith. According to the Census, about 50 million people (16%) of the population is Hispanic/Latino origin. These numbers will go up drastically over the next few years.

“My family gets together and we eat some traditional food. We also watch soccer and just have a good time.”

“What makes me proud is the fact that we’re looked down on as if we’re not supposed to be here, but we are and I’m truly blessed.”

“My family and I tend to just make a bunch of cultural foods and spend time together.”

“All of my family comes together and we just hang out and eat Posole.”

“I’m proud to be Hispanic because Hispanic people come from nothing but rise to be someone when they come to this country. It’s empowering.”
