Phoenix Comicon: Fanfest 2015 preview

Phoenix Comicon is an expanding event growing year after year, but most people don’t know of the December event they host called Fan Fest. Starting Dec. 4 and lasting until Dec. 6 at The University of Phoenix Stadium many celebrities, artists, and authors will be there as well as cosplayers making it a must attend event.

This year celebrities from all over will attend like Karen Gillan of Doctor Who and Guardians of The Galaxy fame, Sean Maher of Firefly fame and many others including comic book writers and artists.

The following is an interview with Ms. Baltajian a con veteran here to let us know why you don’t want to miss out on this years fan fest.

For those who don’t know what exactly goes on at cons like this?

“Lots of people come together for “nerdy” things, but there’s lots to do like going to exhibits, buying merchandise, cosplaying, celeb photos/autographs, and panels. It’s more about meeting people and talking about your interests.”

Why do people dress up for these events?

“It’s more fun to dress up because it’s an instant conversation starter. You take pictures with people or they take pictures with you, it’s like going to Disneyland and taking pictures with their characters except it can be your favorite characters and more for adults.”

Why should people attend these events?

“2 main reasons I go is because I enjoy meeting equally dorky people who like to talk about our favorite things and listen to celebrity panels and take photos with them and get star struck by them. It creates awesome memories.”

Fan Fest will take place Dec. 4-6 at the University of Phoenix stadium, tickets are on sale now starting at $10. Hope to see you there and in the words of the great Stan Lee “Excelsior!”
