Welcome to the Book Club

Group excited to travel through pages of adventure

Kim Montoya, Staff Writer

The Sierra Linda High Book club is sponsored by Mrs. Fresquez, the school Librarian. The purpose of the club is for students and staff to have discussions about books they have read together, discuss the situation on what happened in the book, and about what should and shouldn’t have happen. The club meets once every month, on Thursday.

They are currently reading “The Tyrant’s Daughter” by J. C. Carleson, which is about a story set in a Middle Eastern country where a dictator’s children think that they are a princess and prince…until their uncle kills their father and forces them to move away to the United States, where they learn that their family and life is much more complicated than they realized.

The next book will be “We Should Hang Out Sometime” by  Josh Sundquist. Upcoming reading selections will be: “Skink No Surrender”, “Conversion”, “Day Four”, and “Killer Instinct Or Prince Of Venice Beach”.

What books were you planning on getting?

“I’ve been going in to Barnes and Nobles, looking around for the most popular books. I’ve been researching for some books that just basically have a great cover and an interesting summary.”
