On May 12th-13th Sierra Linda High School Dance Company hosted the schools last dance concert of the year. It took place in the cafeteria at 6 P.M. in front of an overflow crowd of proud parents, students, and supports.
The theme of the show was called ” Save the Last Dance for Me“. There were 27 acts that were performed representing all the levels of dance offered. A variety of Hip Hop, jazz, lyrical, and ballet. A crowd pleasing performance was the senior performance called “Powerful”.
According to Mrs. Helmer, dance department chair, she has been impressed with the senior class and their leadership they have shown in the classroom and on the dance floor.
“They choreographed most of the dances and they lead the warm ups. They are role models and show what the behavior suppose to be like back stage. They take action by being professional and setting good examples.”, Helmer said.
18 Seniors made their last performance as members of Sierra Linda Dance Company, also known as SLDC. The show included a heartwarming dance that included the seniors with dance instructor Mrs. Helmer, along with a great power point that show cased all of them.
“I`m so sad knowing its going to be my last time on the stage with all the people I’ve met and have been dancing with since my freshman year”, said senior Clarissa Lopez.
