The Birth of “Bistro on 67th”
Culinary Arts Opens On Campus Food Spot

On November 9th Sierra Linda opened up a new student operated restaurant called “Bistro on 67th“. This restaurant offers many foods such as carne asade fries and nachos. The Bistro is open Tuesday and Thursday after school for students and staff members from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Wednesday is breakfast for staff members and Friday is lunch for staff members. Their motto is “Serving Good Food”.
“The Bistro was opened for our students to transfer real world employ ability skills, such as food industry technical skills, customer service, cashier experience and provide a place for our students and staff to grab delicious meal and a cool place to hang out.” said Sonia Saenz, CTE department chair
The cost was paid for by the TUHSD apart of their ongoing commitment to the growing CTE programs. The decorations and designed was the efforts of Mrs. Saenz and her students. In addition wall artwork was supplied by Ms. Dima’s Art students.
She works with the culinary students and helps them keep everything in order and she also tells what the students jobs are to keep everything from going into a complete mess. Mrs. Saenz said “Anything that we sell, sells out” meaning that many students and staff members enjoy eating at the bistro. Students on campus have enjoyed having the Bistro. ”
Bistro on 67th worker and Culinary Arts junior Hassaan Luevano said “It’s really fun and social. It is a good experience for our future”

What do you guys plan to add or remove to the menu?
“We’re constantly adding changing our menu to cutter to our customers.”
How long do you guys plan to have it open for?
“Throughout the whole school year.”
What items are mostly bought in the Bistro?
“Slushies and Frappuccinos”
Do you think the Bistro on 67th is fun place to work/help with?
Junior Hassaan Luevano said “It’s really fun and social. It is a good experience for our future.”
Sophmore Angelica del los santos says ” I went once and got a Sonora hot dog and it was good.”
