The Last Knight is the fifth installment of the live-action Transformers film series, the second film in the sequel trilogy and the sequel to 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction. Like the ones before it, the film is directed by Michael Bay, featuring Mark Wahlberg returning from Age of Extinction, with Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, and Glenn Morshower all reprising their roles from the first three films, with Laura Haddock and Anthony Hopkins both joining the cast. The film was released in London on June 18, 2017, so far the film has grossed over $605.40 million USD in revenue.

In this installment of the franchise,  Autobots and Decepticons are at war, with humans on the sidelines. Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth.

A spin-off/prequel, entitled Bumblebee: The Movie, is scheduled for release on December 21, 2018, Michael Bay will be producing both upcoming films, instead of directing
