On Monday December 8th the Sierra Linda gym was filled with fans eagerly watching the lady Bulldogs first home game against the Kingman Bulldogs. Which they came out victorious 85-43

The first half of the game was rocky for Sierra Linda. The team was slipping into foul trouble throughout the first and second quarter. That did not stop them from scoring over the visiting defenders, but Kingman didn’t let up. They returned with their own shots not allowing Sierra Linda to gain too much of a lead.  Both teams were going back and forth not allowing one of the other to gain the upper hand.

At the end of the first half Sierra Linda trailed behind 29-30.

“As soon as we got our platoon (starters) back in we started picking it back up again, the energy was a little bit higher in the second half.” Carranza said

Although they were down after the first half, award winning coaches Desirae Carranza and Coach Ramon Marks did not let their team give up.

Returning from the locker Sierra Linda was out to get the win. The third quarter started off quick and strong.

Not wasting any time the Bulldogs began outscoring the Kingman .They (Kingman) had no answer for the Lady Bulldogs offense. Sierra Linda took over Kingman’s small lead, and began furthering their own. Starting a score streak Sierra Linda dished out point after point, leaving Kingman in the dust. With the lead in their hands Coach Carranza switched out players giving everyone play time.

“We worked as a team. “I did good but it was a team effort,” said Senior Kaylah B. (#32)
