What are termites? It’s a question that I have been hearing throughout the school. Termites are pale colored insects that appear inside wood or walls. For those who are yet not aware there is termites in our library!

I was able to walk in and see what a horrible mess termites left behind. Mrs. Fresquez the librarian said, “The termites were noticed by the ELL students when they were in the library for orientation on Aug. 28th”.

As we spoke I asked how many books were damaged and Fresquez responded, “So far, we’ve had approximately 40 books damaged”.

Many students have books that are overdue. Some have finished their books and now have nothing to read.

Mr. Stouts Junior English class went into the library on Friday but many lost the opportunity to check out books due to termites.
