Hard working and dedicated to making sure our school and student athletes are ready for every event is our very own Alfred Chavez. You see him at events and around campus, but we sat down with him to give you the inside scoop on who he is.

What do you enjoy about your job?

I like coming here working with the kids working with them and I enjoy watching them play at the games.

 How long have you worked at SLHS

I have been here 10 years since it opened I also worked at La Joya high school

Do you feel pressured with the responsibility?

Yeah I feel pressured with all the equipment I have to keep track of

Is it hard to keep track of all the equipment?

Not the equipment but the uniforms because not a lot of kids turn in their uniform in time

 I consider myself a musician I plan on becoming a musician when I retire from Sierra Linda high school

What are somethings that people don’t know about?

I like to play music with my three children we travel all over where they want us to play and I hang with my grandchildren.

What are somethings you enjoy?

 Be around my family and grandchildren
