Lady Bulldogs Hoopsters Continue On Court Dominance
Team set mark with 100th program win

What promised to be a season of winning has turned out to be just that for the 2015-16 SL varsity girls basketball team. With the season half way over, head coach Carranza has a the team balling with a 17-2 overall record.
The team has recorded big victories this year over Horizon, Desert Edge, Centennial, Peoria, as well as East Valley schools such as Mesa, Basha, and McClintock high schools. A key ingredient to the team’s success is the numerous returners from last season’s Sectional Championship team. The Bulldogs recently defeated Arcadia high school 64-48 to win the Arcadia Titan High Winter Hoops Classic that took place over the holiday break.
Leading the offensive power is Sophomore sensation Janae Gonzales who is averaging 20.7 points per game followed by junior Jenay Bojorquez who is averaging 11.5 points per game and Cheyenne Lee with 8.1 points per game.
The week of January 4th the team plays district foe Tolleson High Wolverines at home on Jan. 5th then travel to Kellis high Friday January 8th.
The team is currently ranked 7th in Division II Section V
