After an entire year of no new material from Lana Del Rey with the exception of her feature on The Weeknd’s “Stargirl”, She has released her new single, “Love” and we love it. “Love” was available on iTunes on February 18th. Lana then wrote a message saying, “Hey kids, thanks for listening-it’s OK that it leaked, because like I wrote up there it really does come down to love and the intentions behind the music. That’s why this is a perfect first single, because this one is for you and i luv you.”

Lana released this song with hardly any promotion with the exception of the few posters in LA.

On February 20th, 2017 Lana Del Rey went on a short but pleasant live-stream on Instagram where she first jokingly blamed her fans for the early arrival of her single. She answered a few questions about her upcoming album describing the aesthetic as “Retro Sensibility, with futuristic flare.” The music video for “Love” was uploaded to YouTube about five minutes after her live-stream. The music video opens up as black and white with Lana looking gorgeous as ever with daisies in her hair singing on stage. Then young couples in love are shown, just like the lyrics in the song, “To be young and in love”. Things take a mesmerizing toll when the lovers are shown in space, as well as Lana performing on a lunar landscape.  Overall, the music video is a dreamy, vintage love story in space.

The song is about the youth and most importantly the love. Although many argue that Lana’s music can be very sad, all can admit this song is just beyond beautiful.
